About this course

This forklift training course in Mackay will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to safely operate a forklift truck within mining, construction, warehousing, transport and other industrial environments.

A High Risk Forklift licence is ideal for those looking to perform forklift activities across a wide range of industries.

2-Day Accelerated Format

Training Days Focus On:

• Forklift theory training and presentation delivery
• Practical forklift operation
• Load handling and workplace safety application
• Theory and calculation revision
• Formal knowledge and practical assessment

This structured delivery model provides dedicated theory and practical training, with appropriate opportunities for instruction, practice, feedback and assessment to develop and demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills required by the unit.

Ideal For:

• Workers with previous experience in mining, construction, trades, ports, transport, warehousing, workshops, manufacturing, sugar or similar industrial environments
• Participants familiar with workplace safety practices, hazard identification and risk controls
• Participants who are comfortable learning in an accelerated training environment

Previous forklift operating experience is not required.

Participants who are new to industry, have limited workplace experience, have limited English language skills, require additional language, literacy or learning support, or would benefit from additional training and practical time are strongly encouraged to select our Standard 3-Day Forklift Course.

If you are required to operate a forklift truck, you will need to hold a current High Risk Work Licence – LF.

Training requirements

Enrolment Requirements

The following are required to commence enrolment in this forklift licence course (QLD):

• Be at least 18 years of age at the time of training
• 100 points of identification (WorkSafe QLD ID requirements)
• USI number (Obtain a USI here)
• Be able to read, write and communicate in plain English to a level sufficient to safely participate in training and assessment

Requirements on the Day of Training

• 100 points of identification (as per WorkSafe QLD requirements)
• Enclosed shoes/footwear
• Long-sleeved high visibility shirt (high visibility vests available for loan)
• Long pants

Additional Training and Support

Course outcomes

Certification & Licensing

Upon successful completion and being deemed competent, you will receive a
Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0003 – Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck
issued by Momentum High Risk Training (RTO 46410).

A Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS) will also be issued via email. This document is required when applying for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).
