2-Day Intensive Format

Prior to attendance, participants complete a pre-course preparation component. This includes access to the training presentation, learning materials, instructional videos and workbook. The completed workbook must be submitted for review and approval before progressing to face-to-face training.

  • Load handling and workplace safety application
  • Theory clarification and calculation revision
  • Formal knowledge and practical assessment

This structured approach ensures maximum hands-on machine time during the practical training days while maintaining full compliance with assessment requirements.

If you are required to operate a forklift truck, you will need to hold a current High Risk Work Licence – LF.

Training requirements

Enrolment Requirements

The following are required to commence enrolment in this forklift licence course (QLD):

Requirements on the Day of Training

  • 100 points of identification (as per WorkSafe QLD requirements)
  • Steel capped or composite safety boots
  • Long-sleeved high visibility shirt (high visibility vests available for loan)
  • Long pants
  • Hard hat (available for loan if required)

  • Various food outlets located nearby at Mackay Harbour

Inexperienced Workers

Where a student is considered inexperienced, additional time may be required to fully develop the necessary knowledge and practical skills prior to assessment. In such cases, the trainer/assessor may recommend further supervised workplace practice. Training activities are recorded in a logbook and, upon completion of the required nominal hours and demonstrated competency, the student may return to MHRT to undertake formal assessment.

Course outcomes

Certification & Licensing

Upon successful completion and being deemed competent, you will receive a
Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0003 – Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck
issued by Momentum High Risk Training (RTO 46410).

A Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS) will also be issued via email. This document is required when applying for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL).

To apply for your High Risk Work Licence, you must contact
WorkSafe QLD
within 60 days of completing your assessment.
Please retain your Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS) as proof of assessment until your HRWL is issued.
